£££: Price List

Maria & Sam § Wedding Photography § Under The Stars, Bristol

Let’s get down to the nuts and bolts of price… Hopefully, you like my photographs and you think I would make a pretty good fit into your plans. So now you’re thinking about your budget and whether I’m going to wander in, take your wallet out, pocket your cash and then mosey on out to meet my friends at the pub like I’m your teenage son/daughter.

Short answer; No, that’s not how this will pan out. It’s a much sunnier day than that.

Long answer, I’ve thought long and hard about how to price my work and decided I like to be flexible (within reason). I have set “packages” as photographers call them, and they contain all the basic things you will get when you hire me to be your photographer. But if you come to me and say; “Hey Matt, we want you to photograph everything with film! We love film.”, or perhaps, “Matty! We are eloping and it’s only going to be the two of us and our two witnesses… What say you?” or even (please, please, please), “Matthew, we are considering Vanuatu for our wedding ceremony… We’d also like to do it SCUBA diving, are you in?!”, then I am going to be taking my package price and throwing it away (and I’m going to dig out my SCUBA kit). I’ll do you up a custom package that will be appropriate to what you want, it may cost more or it may cost less than my prices here. Who knows!

Weddings

If you want me to come along to your wedding and photograph the whole day this is what you will get from me;

  • Me: I’ll be where you want me, when you want me, for however long it takes to photograph your wedding (obviously if it starts to stretch into 12+ hours on the day then I might need to adjust my rates). I will meet you (in person, on the telephone or via FaceTime or Skype etc) as many times as needed to discuss your wedding and make you comfortable with what I will be doing. It’s a stressful time and you probably haven’t been to as many weddings as I have so if you have any questions then I will be available for you to chat to. If you want it I will be at the Bridal preparation, then I’ll get myself to the church (or whatever) on-time and finally I’ll be opposite you both on the dance floor at midnight as you enjoy that warm embrace. Whatever you want, I’ll try to make it happen.
  • Edited Photographs: Every single photograph you get from me will be individually edited by my own professional photo editor. Many photographers edit their own work and that’s definitely a great thing (I still do it for some of my work). However, I want to take the best photographs possible and in order to do that I want to use my camera as best I can and as much as possible, not Photoshop. I will, of course, be overseeing my editors work (I stand over him like a Vulture, no joke) but editing is what he does… All day, every day. So he’s good at it. Really, really, good. You might also have seen photographers stating they will give you a fixed number of photographs, I don’t do that. Simply put, I’ve shot small weddings that resulted in only about 100 photographs and I’ve shot huge multi-day affairs that resulted in… Well, you get the idea. I’ll shoot your wedding and I’ll give you a good selection of photographs that documents the entire day (or days, or weeks if need be). But ultimately you’ll have a series of photographs that tells the story of the entire event, some of them will even be bits you didn’t see.
  • Facebook Album: While the photographs are being edited I will make a small selection and upload them to Facebook so you, your family and your friends can Share them as soon as possible. Go and check out some of the previous albums on my Facebook Page.
  • Online Proof Album: An online album containing all of the photographs from your day. The album is also linked to my very own professional printers and orders for very high quality prints can be made directly to them for reasonable prices. You can have a look at it by clicking right here or there’s a link in the menu bar at the top of this page.
  • 10’x8′ Framed Photograph: One of my photographs, your choice, from your day printed and framed by my very own professional printers. Tell me which photograph, I give you a framed print, you hang it on your wall, it looks great. Simple.
  • Digital Copies: A full set of professionally edited images from your day, both hi-res (for printing) and lo-res (for use online), provided to you on a swish credit card style USB storage device inside of a custom designed case (which will match your wedding albums should you order any from me).

Pop-Up-Studio / Photo Booth

You’ve probably seen Photo Booths at events before, large metal or timber boxes, similar to the photo booths dotted around shopping malls where you can get yourself a passport photograph (and we all know what our passport photographs are like!). Well, what I offer is nothing like that, hence I prefer the name “Pop-Up-Studio”, what I have is all of my professional camera equipment, lighting and (if you want and it’s necessary), backgrounds. I use my knowledge, experience and high spec. equipment to transform as section of your venue into a proper studio for your guests to cut loose and have their own professional quality photographs taken. What’s more, because my Pop-Up-Studio equipment is part of the professional level kit I use to photograph weddings and portraiture. I can pick it up and use it in ways that no regular Photo Booth can match. I can get creative with the photographs;

I can funk out with my lighting,

Katie Hart

I can make use of the venue’s cool wall and chaise lounge to create a set,

Bristol Roller Derby: Grannyoke Charity Fundraiser

I can shoot in a 1m x 2m space of a basement nightclub, with low ceilings, and produce some amazing head shots, and,

Katie Hart

I can make sure that as many of the large group of guests as possible get in the shot, even when I’m shooting at the end of a bistro inside a bloody narrow boat!

2013.10: Maria Coombe and Sam Homfray - Wedding Photo Booth

If you like the idea of having a Pop-Up-Studio at your wedding or other event (I’ve done birthdays, charity events, corporate events and regular parties) to photograph your guests getting wild this is what you will get from me;

  • Photographer: You’ll get a photographer… I don’t just mean just someone who can click the camera’s shutter button or someone who knows how to set-up and then pack the gear away. I mean an actual bona-fide photographer, either myself or one of my associates who I have personally chosen because they can handle any of the technical or artistic issues that may arise from using professional equipment.
  • Pop-Up-Studio: The photographer will have all the equipment they need; camera (with backup), lights, backdrops, and a suitcase full of props (Oh yes, don’t forget the props… Everyone loves funny hats and moustaches!).
  • iPad Viewing Screen: If there is a wireless network in your venue then, as they are taken, all the photographs will be wirelessly transmitted to my iPad running as a slideshow so your guests can see the photographs shortly after they’ve been taken… Give or take 30-40 seconds of course. 😉
  • Facebook Album: As the photographs are being edited I will make a small selection and upload them to Facebook so you, your family and your friends can Share them as soon as possible.

Pop-Up Studio / Photo Booth Prices:

3 Hours: £350.00

4 Hours: £500.00

These session prices do not include any time taken to set-up or break down and pack away the Pop-Up-Studio… So you’re only paying for the fun times!

If you have any questions, would like to know more or if you have ideas that I haven’t covered here then get in touch with me, click the link in the menu bar at the top of the page. As The Beatles once sang, “We can work it out!”.
